Noro Kureopatora handwoven scarf

A striking multicolourful scarf has arisen using Noro Kureopatora 100% wool yarn with a mocha coloured 100% alpaca yarn from Tailored Strands.  The dark brown alpaca acts as a great background to the multicolourful strips so characteristic with Noro yarns.  A gorgeous scarf for these chilly spring days.  And for the record it is 1830mm x 185mm and weighs 148g.

A unique scarf which you will be able to see soon at Aspects of Kings Park or The Artisan Store Fremantle depending upon stock movement.

Left-over yarns

What do you do when a friend gives you a bag containing bundles of yarns?  Bits and pieces of 13 different fibres?  Well, you sort them into colours that blend together and sufficient quantity for a 2.7m warp.  Then arrange the colours, and width and frequency of stripes, for the warp so as to use up all the available yarns.  Finally choose an appropriate coloured thin fibre to use as the weft.  And away you go, in this case in plain, or tabby, weave.

The result is five interesting funky scarves!  Actually not bad for a lot of left over yarns.  And now my friend has five colourful scarves instead of a bag of forgotten yarns.
