Mohair and alpaca handwoven scarves

 Fawn, furry and fluffy.

Well, what else would you expect when you hand weave Filatura Di Crosa Butterfly yarn (50% mohair, 50% acrylic) with a 100% champagne coloured alpaca yarn from Tailored Strands.

Two scarves in two different patterns nominally 1800mm x 215mm and weighing 110g.  They feel very soft and will sure keep you warm, with good looks to go with it.  Do they match the fashions in your wardrobe?

See them soon at Aspects of Kings Park or The Artisan Store Fremantle depending on stock movements.

Heather coloured handwoven mohair scarves

Heather on the Moors.  Have you enjoyed the colour and beauty of heather growing on the moors in the UK?  Beautiful!!   So now I bring you a reminder of those experiences.

Two hand-woven scarves in the two colours you associate with heather.   I have used a Hayfield luxury mohair yarn (80% mohair, 10% acrylic, 10% nylon) on a warp of 100% Australian alpaca from Tailored Strands.  Can you spot the two different patterns, partially visible through the fluffyness of the mohair?  The distortion similar to the wind waving the stalks of heather.  These are soft, colourful, lightweight scarves nominally 1800mm x 210 mm and weighing 95g.

Mohair hand-woven scarf

What is grey, lavender and fluffy?

The answer is a scarf hand-woven using a Shepherd Ezotik 14 ply 77% mohair, 14% wool, and 9% nylon yarn on a 100% Australian alpaca yarn from Tailored Strands.  The mohair is coloured grey and lavender whilst the alpaca is lavender coloured.  And you guessed it, the fluffy nature comes from the mohair.

Not content with a single length warp the second half of the warp was used to use up some oddment yarns.  And what a reaction l received from the first two ladies who saw the final product.  In fibres unknown, apart from the alpaca warp and a little mohair, this scarf will have great appeal.  As a special offer you can buy this scarf for A$100 including postage.

Both scarves are nominally 1830mm x 200mm and weigh 99g.  They will both be available at Aspects of Kings Park or The Artisan Store Fremantle in due course, unless sold earlier.
