Koigu P309 scarves

Have now completed a further two scarves using Koigu hand painted merino wool, code P309. The same yarn has been used for both warp and weft. As with all the scarves using the Koigu yarns, a plain (or tabby) weave has been used since the interest is in the multicoloured yarns. One scarf turned out to be 1400mm x 140mm and 86g, whilst the second is 1500mm x 140mm and 92g.

Broome holiday

Have just spent five nights in Broome staying at the Cable Beach Resort. This resort is the only one in Broome with a beach front. From their Sunset Bar and Restaurant you have beautiful sunsets every evening and a view of the camel trains going to, and fro, the beach.

The various accommodation units are set in lovely gardens,

and, of course, the resort has two swimming pools if you want to avoid the stingers in the ocean! This is the family pool

2 orange cashmere scarves

Have just completed two similar hand-dyed orange cashmere scarves, 1730mm x 155mm 50g and 1930mm x 155mm 55g. The dye is not constant so there is a colour striation besides the woven pattern. As you would expect, both scarves are very soft.

Hand painted merino yarn

I have been asked by Debbie at Calico and Ivy to weave her some scarves using some hand painted merino yarn from Canada that she stocks. I have sufficient yarn to weave 12 scarves similar to the previous two. Each bundle will be used for each scarf. The bundles of 4 skeins will produce two scarves.
