Scarves hand-woven using hand-painted wool and nylon yarn

What do you do whilst visiting Granville Island in Vancouver?  Besides buying a wide variety of fruit for our lunch I also purchased 2 x 100g skeins of hand-painted wool and nylon mix yarns.  I have now hand-woven these into two colourful scarves.  With the limited amount of yarn they are small scarves.   A green and red one is only 1260mm x 150mm and weighs 82g, and a blue and yellow one of 1410mm x 160mm and 89g in weight.

Lavender Tailored Strands alpaca handwoven scarves

I was getting ready for Wimbledon, but ran out of grass (or at least green), so now have to settle for the Dockers!  It would have gone done well last Saturday for my first trip to our new stadium.
In reality I have hand-woven two lavender coloured scarves using Tailored Strands 100% Australian alpaca.  Two patterns, two scarves, in soft feeling, warm luxurious alpaca.  Lovely for our chilly winter days.  Nominally 1800mm x 210mm and weighing 142g, they would be a delight to wear.

Lichen coloured Tailored Strands alpaca scarves

After weaving several bold, warm colours, suitable for winter I turn to spring.  Well, I am going to Canada today where spring is arriving.
Two scarves hand-woven in lichen coloured Tailored Strands 100% Australian alpaca yarn in two slightly different patterns.  Nominally 18800mm x 210mm and weighing 142g, these "new growth" coloured scarves will be ideal for crispy spring mornings.  Warm, luxurious feel, and easy on the eye, you can't go wrong whether you buy for yourself or a friend.

Teal coloured Tailored Strands alpaca scarf

I am very pleased with my latest hand-woven scarf.  Woven using Tailored Strands 100% Australian alpaca yarn, coloured Teal, in an interesting pattern.  A lovely colour, a lovely feel, ready for a lovely person.  It will fly, being  1900mm x 215mm and weighing 147g, or you can wrap it around your neck several times for warmth.
I think that Aspects of Kings Park and The Artisan Store Fremantle may miss out on this one.

Claret coloured alpaca hand-woven scarves

What do you do with claret coloured 100% Australian alpaca yarn from Tailored Strands?  Well, I have hand-woven two lovely soft feeling luxurious scarves in two different patterns.  Both scarves are nominally 1800mm x 215mm and weigh 146g.
This time I have ear-marked one for myself, unless some one wants to buy it at the material price of $40.  Opps, it has a significant weaving error which I can see, can you?  The other one?  I have an idea, so it  may not appear in the shops unless I become desperate for stock.

A scarf with a difference

An interesting scarf has been hand-woven using an unlabelled yarn similar to Moda Vera Gentile, 92% nylon and 8% lurex.  This yarn has two threads with mainly silvered but sometimes pink coloured squares at intervals along the yarn.  Using Yeoman Aurora crepe (30% wool, 20% nylon, 50% acrylic) yarn as the weft the scarf is of an open, or loose, weave.  This scarf of only 80g may not keep you warm but its 1800mm x 240mm size will add that flowing flair of class to your outfit.

Ocean and royal blue handwoven alpaca scarves

It's February, and I should be cruising the high seas.  To compensate I have been spending time with ocean blue and royal blue coloured alpaca yarns from Tailored Strands.  Beautiful colours, beautiful feel and beautiful hand-woven scarves have come out of this activity.  Two, in fact, in slightly different patterns.  The two-tone one is 1710mm x 210mm and weighs 140g whilst the solid ocean blue on is 1890mm x 205mm and weighs 156g.
Can you resist?  I know we have four days of century temperatures coming, but cold days will come in due course.
