Ocean blue Tailored Strands alpaca handwoven scarves

After several multi-coloured scarves I have chosen to hand weave two scarves in a plain old blue.  Actually ocean blue Tailored Strands 100% Australian alpaca.  I now have two beautiful blue scarves in a choice of patterns. Both are lovely and soft as you would expect from alpaca and bring you a cooling colour.  The scarves are nominally 1780mm x 220mm and weigh 156g.

Another Noro Mossa handwoven scarf

Do you like a claret or two?  I have hand-woven two scarves with multi-coloured strips on a background of claret!  Noro Mossa #13 provides the multiple  colours and textures whilst the claret background is a Tailored Strands Australian alpaca yarn.   Two deep coloured textured and soft-feeling scarves, both nominally 1820mm x 200mm and weighing 165g.

Noro Mossa #8 handwoven scarves

Keeping in a colourful mood I have hand-woven two more scarves using Noro Mossa #8 yarn on a Tailored Strands 100% Australian alpaca teal coloured yarn.  Two bulky soft-feeling  scarves with many different bands of colour.  Both are nominally 1850mm x 205mm and weigh 163g. A delight to own and wear.

More leftover cashmere handwoven scarves

Amazing stuff!  I have now hand-woven six multi-coloured cashmere scarves from my leftovers from previous projects.  The left-overs are diminishing so the two shown here have less colours than the previous ones.  In fact, the second (or the sixth in the series) only has three colours.
But these hand-woven multi-coloured cashmere scarves are both spectacular with the elegance and softness associated with the yarn.  They are both nominally 1720mm x 200mm and weigh 72g.

Multicoloured cashmere handwoven scarf

A potential buyer missed out on a cashmere scarf she was eyeing so asked me for another.  I have used up all my supply of 2-ply cashmere yarns but had a lot of leftovers from previous woven scarves.  With these leftovers I have hand-woven two multi-coloured stripped cashmere scarves on a fine Corriedale warp.  Whoa!!  Two  beautiful lightweight colourful scarves (14 different colours) that will make you the envy of all your friends.
Nominally 1760mm x 215mm and weighing 73g these scarves would normally appear at Aspects of Kings Park or The Artisan Store Fremantle but I feel they will be snapped up before they reach the stores.

Noro Mossa #9 and emerald alpaca handwoven scarf

To brighten up these dismal winter days I have picked a brightly multi-coloured Noro Mossa yarn and hand-woven it with an emerald coloured Tailored Strands Australian alpaca yarn.
The Noro Moss yarn, being 52% wool, 16% viscose, 11% mohair, 11% silk and 10% nylon, has an interesting fluffy texture with colourful specks amongst the striped colours.  The two  multi-coloured scarves are in slightly different patterns and are nominally 1800mm x 210mm and weigh 176g.  An eye-catching fluffy scarf to keep you warm these cold winter days.

Mocha and mango Tailored Strands alpaca handwoven scarves

Two interesting alpaca scarves have been hand-woven using  Tailored Strands 4-ply Australian alpaca yarns.  I have used the same pattern for both but one is in a solid mocha colour whilst in the other the mango colour yarn has been used for the weft.  The two colour scarf shows up the pattern with the mango dominant on one side and mocha on the other.  The solid mocha scarf is 1700mm x 200mm and weighs 132g, whilst the two-tone scarf is 1810mm x 200mm and weighs 139g.

Tailored Strands Royal Blue and Ocean Blue alpaca handwoven scarves

The winter blues, are they for you?
I have hand-woven  two scarves in the same pattern using Tailored Strands Australian 4-ply alpaca yarns.  In the first I have used the Royal Blue colour for both the warp and the weft whilst in the second I substituted the Ocean Blue colour as the weft.
These two luxurious alpaca scarves, nominally 1830mm x 215mm and weighing 143g, from which you can choose either the solid dark blue, almost navy blue, colour, or the two-tones of blue.  This second scarf can be reversed to get either a predominately darker shade or  a lighter shade of blue.

Noro Mossa #11 and lavender Tailored Strands alpaca handwoven scarf

With those cold days that we are now occasionally experiencing I have the scarf for you!
I have hand-woven a Noro Mossa #11 yarn (52% wool, 16% viscose, 11% mohair, 115 silk, 10% nylon) with a Tailored Strands lavender coloured Australian alpaca yarn to give a bulky warm-feeling scarf.  Multicolours among the lavender background, this textured scarf may be reversed to give you two interesting scarves in one.  And for your information the scarf is nominally 1840mm x 210mm and weighs 170g.

Schachenmayr Winter Ombre and alpaca handwoven scarf

When in Andorra recently I could not resist purchasing 150g of Schachenmayr Winter Ombre yarn.  This is a 80% acrylic, 20% wool mix with interesting tones of light blue, gold and silver (OK you colour connoisseurs it maybe tan and grey but I am trying to promote my scarf!) spun into a single twist of varying thickness.
I have hand-woven this yarn as the weft on a warp of seachange coloured 4-ply Tailored Strands Australian alpaca.  The two blues are very similar so I have a scarf with interesting bands of subtle colours on a background of blue.
On the same warp I continued with the seachange coloured alpaca as the weft so have a solid coloured scarf in the same pattern.  Both scarves are very soft to touch in a lovely relaxing blue tone.  They are both nominally 1800mm x 230mm weighing 160g.
